10 Killed in Devastating Taxi and Truck Crash in Isipingo

A horrific collision between a truck and a minibus taxi has claimed at least 10 lives on Wanda Cele Road in the vicinity of Lotus Park, Isipingo, earlier today.

According to emergency personnel on the scene, the minibus taxi was transporting passengers at the time of the crash. Initial information indicates that the impact was severe, leaving multiple occupants trapped inside the wreckage. Tragically, 10 people have been confirmed dead.

Paramedics have also reported approximately eight additional casualties, some of whom sustained serious injuries. Several ambulance services rushed to the scene as rescuers worked under extremely difficult conditions to access those trapped in the mangled vehicles.

All law enforcement agencies are currently on site, and the South African Police Service has taken over the scene for further investigation. The exact cause of the crash has not yet been established, and authorities are expected to release more details once preliminary investigations are concluded.

The roadway has been completely closed to traffic, and motorists are urged to avoid the area to allow emergency services and investigators to do their work. Significant delays are expected in and around Isipingo as traffic is diverted.

The scale of the loss has left the local community shaken, with scenes described as chaotic and deeply distressing.

This is a developing story, and further updates will be provided as more confirmed information becomes available.

SA Trucker extends heartfelt condolences to the families and loved ones of those who lost their lives in this tragic crash. May the departed souls rest in peace.
