Five people have been killed and several others injured after a bus and a taxi collided headon.
The accident happened around 13h00 this afternoon along R102 just before University of Zululand offramp.
The cause of the accident is not known at stage but it is alleged one of the vehicles was attempting to overtake when the accident happened.
KZN EMS and other services are on scene.
Motorists have been urged to avoid the area to ease the pressure on authorities and allow for emergency vehicles to easily access the scene.
