Alert: Diesel Thief Caught on Camera at Mkhuze on the N2

Truckers passing through Mkhuze on the N2 need to be on high alert as diesel thieves have been spotted targeting trucks parked on the roadside.

A recent incident caught on camera highlights the brazen tactics these criminals use — even in broad daylight.

In the footage, a suspect emerges from nearby bushes, acting casual as he approaches the truck.

Initially pretending to ignore the vehicle, he checks the surroundings for any witnesses before moving towards the cab.

A rear-facing camera captures him pretending to pass by, only to quickly block its view with an object.

Reports indicate that the thief had already started siphoning diesel into containers but was interrupted by a passing truck, forcing him to flee.

His pipes were found still attached, evidence of his failed attempt.

These thieves rely on the fact that truckers, often exhausted, may not notice any unusual activity around their vehicles.

Whether it’s day or night, they strike with the confidence that their victims might be too tired to respond.

Truckers plying the N2 route through Mkhuze should take note and avoid sleeping on the roadside in this area.

These thieves don’t discriminate between night and day, so don’t let them catch you off guard!
