All lanes reopened on N3 south after successful repair of sinkhole after Keyridge

Motorists using the N3 south freeway towards Pinetown from Peacevale will be pleased to learn that the sinkhole before the M13 off ramp has been successfully repaired.

On Monday, 16 May the KZN Department of Transport announced that the road was fully opened with the first vehicle passing through at 18h30.

“We commend the Sanral engineering team for working hard throughout the weekend. Government remains committed to urgent repairs as part of the post floods recovery plan,” said KZN Department of Transport.

The sinkhole formed as a result of torrential rains that hit the province last month. Soil was eroded from underneath the ground surface causing the massive sinkhole which caused massive traffic delays.

Motorists can expect smooth flow of traffic going onwards as all the three lanes after the Keyridge interchange are now functional.
