The N1 has been closed to traffic following a devastating crash involving three trucks on Wednesday night, July 24, 2024.
The accident occurred on the N1 at Hexriver Pass, just before the R318 turn-off between Touwsriver and De Doorns.
Reports from truckers at the scene indicate that the crash happened just before 20h00.
In a video sent to SA Trucker, the three trucks are seen engulfed in a massive blaze.
Shortly after, a fire truck arrives to battle the inferno.
The number of casualties remains unknown as authorities are still working to extinguish the fire and secure the area.
The N1 has been closed to traffic to allow emergency services to manage the scene safely.
