At 11h51 on Friday morning Netcare 911 paramedics responded to a bus that overturned on the R712 between Golden Gate and Kwa- Kwa. Exact detail to the cause of the crash is still speculative and will remain a subject for police investigation and comment.
Paramedics arrived at the scene and found that a bus with forty-two people had rolled. After triaging the injured it was found that nine people had tragically died at the scene while the others sustained injuries ranging from critical to serious.
The injured were treated at the scene by various services before they were transported to hospital for the care that they required. Tragically another person died soon after arriving at the hospital bringing the death toll to ten.
