Child dies as truck and tractor collides near Letsitele

A child sadly died and at least four adults were injured when a truck and tractor collided on the R529 near Letsitele monday evening.

ER24 paramedics, EMS as well as other services attended to the incident.

Paramedics found the truck well alight when they arrived on scene.

Sadly, there was nothing that could be done for a young child that was found near the truck.

The child sustained fatal burn injuries. A woman as well as both male drivers and at least one other man were assessed and found to have sustained minor to moderate injuries.

They were treated and transported to local hospitals for further medical care.

Fire and Rescue attended to the incident to extinguish the fire.

The exact cause of the incident is unknown.

Authorities were on scene for further investigations.
