A dramatic crash caught on camera has left viewers debating what exactly caused this accident.
The accident occurred on the N3 southbound near Peter Brown Drive on Town Hill in Pietermaritzburg on Friday, 07 February 2025.
In the footage, a car can be seen suddenly losing control, veering into a ditch before the driver fights to regain control.
However, instead of recovering, the vehicle shoots across the road, straight into the path of a truck travelling in the same direction.
The impact sends the car off the road again, nearly rolling over, but it miraculously stays on all four wheels.

At first glance, some might say the driver was speeding and lost control.
Others argue that maybe a tyre burst or a mechanical failure triggered the chaos. Could it have been a sudden medical emergency? Or perhaps something as simple as swerving to avoid an obstacle?
Then there’s the truck’s role — was the driver able to react in time? My view is that the trucker had little to no time to change the situation.
