Dashcam footage circulating online has captured a terrifying sequence of events showing a truck losing control, smashing through the centre median, and colliding head-on with another vehicle.
The exact location of the crash has not yet been confirmed, and authorities have not released further details at this stage.
In the video, the recording vehicle can be seen travelling behind a motorbike on a multi-lane roadway. Everything appears normal until the motorbike rider suddenly reacts, veering sharply into the left lane. Seconds later, the reason becomes clear.
A red truck travelling in the opposite direction is seen heading straight towards oncoming traffic. In a split second, the truck crashes through the centre median, throwing up a thick cloud of dust and debris. The motorbike narrowly escapes, riding straight through the dust plume and missing the truck by what looks like mere metres.
The recording vehicle, however, is not as fortunate.
With little time to react, the vehicle is struck violently by the red truck, which is transporting a container. The impact sends the recording vehicle spinning around, eventually coming to rest facing the direction it had just travelled from. As the dust begins to settle, the truck can be seen stationary ahead, its momentum finally halted after slamming into a concrete pillar.
Adding to the chilling nature of the footage, a bus is seen passing through the scene just before the dust even settles. Had the bus reached that point a few seconds earlier, the outcome could have been far more devastating, potentially involving multiple fatalities.
The cause of the truck losing control remains unknown.
