Dashcam captures serious two truck crash after one attempts illegal U-turn

Dashcam footage has emerged of a crash berween a Ni-Da Transport side tipper truck and a rigid tipper truck on R37 near Steelport this past week.

Images of the wreckage of the Ni-Da Transport truck were sent to SA Trucker on 20 January 2021 immediately after the collision around 11h33.

A dashboard camera from another truck which was not involved in the accident captured the accident as it happened.

The Ni-Da truck appears in the video just after passing the truck with the onboard camera.

Less than 100m after passing the stationery truck, the driver attempts to make a U-turn on an undesignated place.

He turns to the right and just after blocking the whole road, the rigid tipper truck appears in the video going the same direction with the Ni-Da truck.

The rigid tipper truck driver is left with no option but to swerve to avoid direct impact. He swerves to the right and partially crashes into the Ni-Da truck before losing control and crashing into the bush.
