A courier driver had a terrifying experience in Umlazi, south of Durban, when a group of thugs hijacked his delivery van and forced him to lie on the ground before taking off with the vehicle on Tuesday.

According to reports, the suspects intercepted the van while it was en route to deliver parcels in the area. After stopping the driver, they ordered him out of the vehicle and made him lie flat on the ground. They then sped off with the van, later abandoning it after dumping the goods it was carrying.

Fortunately, the whole ordeal was captured on the van’s dash cam, which the criminals seemed completely unaware of. The footage clearly shows how the incident unfolded, providing investigators with crucial evidence.

The hijackers can be seen making calls to a waiting vehicle to offload the loot in the same area quickly.
