Dashcam Captures VW Polo Flying Into Truck After Failing to Negotiate Curve on R50

A VW Polo driver was tragically killed when he failed to negotiate a curve and crashed head-on with an oncoming truck on the R50 near Bapsfontein earlier on Sunday afternoon.

Dashcam footage from the truck involved shows the heavy vehicle travelling at a steady speed before the Polo appears from the opposite direction. The small hatchback can be seen losing control as it enters the curve, veering into the truck’s lane.

In a desperate attempt to correct his mistake, the Polo driver swerves back, while the truck driver simultaneously tries to avoid a collision. Unfortunately, both vehicles move in the same direction, leading to a violent impact that sends the Polo flying.
