A dashcam video of a shocking truck crash has surfaced online, highlighting how quickly things can go wrong when a driver takes their eyes and hands off the wheel.
In the footage, the driver is seen going about his routine with one hand on the steering wheel and the other resting on the gear lever. Suddenly, he appears to remember he may have forgotten something – possibly his cellphone. He begins searching his pockets while still driving.
Within seconds, both hands leave the wheel and his eyes drop to his lap as if he could see inside the pockets. With no control or focus on the road, the truck drifts off towards the left shoulder. The driver only realises the danger when the rough surface jolts the truck, but by then it is too late.
