A cross-border trucking operation has landed in serious trouble after a major dagga bust at the Beitbridge Border Post on Tuesday, 7 April 2026.
Officials from the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority intercepted a haulage truck during a routine inspection and uncovered a large consignment of undeclared marijuana hidden inside the trailer.
According to authorities, 34 packages of dagga were cleverly concealed among commercial goods. Further checks confirmed the total weight at a massive 691.67 kilograms. The shipment had reportedly been transported from South Africa and was destined for Harare.
The driver was immediately arrested on the scene, while the truck used in the operation was seized as evidence. Law enforcement agencies have since taken over the case, with investigations ongoing and charges expected to follow.
