A truck driver from a Durban based trucking company has died in hospital after he was injured in a truck crash on N3 near New England off-ramp on Saturday morning.
The accident happened when there was thick fog in the area which was worsened by the smoke coming from a burning dumpsite nearby.
Kwazulu Private Ambulance Service responded to the N3 near New England road for reports of the collision.
When emergency services arrived they found that a truck had lost control and crashed.
Paramedics quickly assessed the scene and found that the driver had sustained critical injuries.
Paramedics together with rescue personal worked to stabilize the patient and extricate the patient from the truck.
The patient was stabilized on the scene before being transported to the hospital but sadly after a few hours the man passed on.
