Driver freed using Jaws of Life after crash in Durban IMG 20190907 213319

Durban- Paramedics had to use jaws of life to free a truck driver from the wreck of his truck following a crash in Pinetown last night.

Netcare 911’s Shawn Herbst told SA Trucker that two trucks collided on Goodwood Road in Westmead, Pinetown.

“Medics assessed the scene and found that the driver of the rear truck had sustained moderate injuries,” he said.

A Netcare 911 Rescue Technician had to use the Jaws of Life to free him from the wreckage.

Herbst said that the patient was treated on and stabilised on the scene before he was transported by another private ambulance service to hospital for further treatment.

All necessary authorities were on scene.
