A truck driver has tragically been killed in an accident that occurred early Friday morning on the R34 at Mpungamhlophe near the Babanango Game Reserve.
The head-on crash, which took place at approximately 05:15am, involved a lowbed truck towing a trailer loaded with two trucks and a Fidelity van.
Both vehicles caught fire on impact.
The truck driver was sadly burned to death as he was trapped in his cab while two other people were seriously injured.

Emergency services arrived swiftly at the scene but were unable to save the truck driver, who was declared deceased on the scene.
The driver of the Fidelity van sustained serious injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention.
Another individual was also injured and taken to the hospital; however, it is not yet clear whether this person was a passenger in the truck or the van.
Authorities have yet to determine the cause of the crash, and an investigation is currently underway to establish the circumstances leading up to the collision.
The incident caused significant disruption to traffic on the R34, as emergency personnel worked to clear the wreckage and ensure the safety of the area.
Motorists were advised to exercise caution and seek alternative routes where possible.
