A truck driver tragically lost his life in a shocking accident on the N11 after his vehicle veered off the road, struck steel barriers, and collided with a bridge before crashing into a river below.
The accident occurred on Thursday morning between Ladysmith and Newcastle in KwaZulu Natal.
According to a video sent to SA Trucker, the truck left a visible trail of destruction, eventually landing on the opposite side of the river.
Other truck drivers who arrived at the scene immediately after the crash were unable to locate the driver. Tragically, his body was later discovered hanging from a tree about 30 metres from the crash site.

The cause of the accident is not known at this stage. However, speeding cannot be ruled out, given that the vehicle managed to cross the river and only came to a stop on the other side.
The horse detached from the side tipper interlink, which was severely damaged.
