Tragedy struck Mobeni early this morning when a senior manager at South African Inland Logistics was shot and killed in a suspected targeted attack inside the company premises.
Just before 8 am, ALS Paramedics responded to multiple emergency calls reporting a shooting on Nottingham Place, Mobeni South.
“On arrival, paramedics found a man in his forties who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Despite immediate intervention by Advanced Life Support Paramedics, the man went into cardiac arrest on the scene. Extensive resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful, and he was pronounced dead,” ALS paramedics spokesperson, Garrith Jamieson stated
According to sources within the company, the manager had just arrived from home. As he exited his car, the suspect allegedly opened fire, shooting him several times before fleeing the scene.
The motive for the attack remains unclear, and the South African Police Service (SAPS) are investigating. Authorities are appealing to anyone with information about the shooting to come forward.
