louis terrence pather

The Durban trucking community is mourning the loss of a giant in the transport and freight industry, Louis Terrance Pather, the owner of TPS Trucking who sadly succumbed to Covid-19 on 16 December 2020.

According to a close relative, Pather contracted Covid-19 a few weeks ago.

Confirming the news, a relative posted on her Facebook page:

“We’re all numb right now, not quite sure how to process this news. Louis Terrance Pather was as much part of my family as anyone else. Covid 19 has hit too close to home.

When monitoring his progress over the last few weeks, I kept telling Belinda Pather to be ready for the new, improved Louis to come home. I really believed he would come home and tell the story of his experience in the way, only Louis can tell a story.

We have made so many memories over the decades. All the road trips we’ve been on, holidays we’ve shared. Sunday lunches and birthday celebrations.

We’re so devastated to hear of your passing. It’s surreal that we’ll never get to have Sunday afternoon tea, regaled with all your stories in your inimitable way.

Belinda, Preston Lee Pather , Liam, Aunty Sushie, Joanne Govender we’re so sorry for your loss. Go well my brother. You have left behind memories to treasure. Have a shot with Billy and give your Aya a hug. You are loved.”

His remains will be cremated at the Clare Estate Crematorium on 18 December 2020.
