FAW Caps Off 2025 with Record December as Sales Momentum Rolls into 2026

FAW Trucks Southern Africa closed out 2025 on a serious high, posting its strongest monthly sales figure on record and carrying that momentum straight into the new year.

The truck maker delivered 796 units in December alone, pushing its total sales for 2025 to 6,549 trucks across Southern Africa. In a year where many operators were still watching costs closely, those numbers stand out, especially given the tough economic backdrop most fleets have been dealing with.

FAW’s growth has been driven less by hype and more by what truckers and operators actually care about. Models like the JH6 500 and JH6 550 have been gaining traction with long-haul and logistics outfits, largely on the back of fuel figures that many drivers reckon are punching above expectations, often clearing the 3 km per litre mark in real-world running. Add decent driver comfort, modern safety tech and manageable maintenance costs, and it starts to make sense why more fleets are taking a closer look.

On the vocational side, FAW also widened its net in 2025 with the introduction of the JK6 28.310 FD tipper, aimed squarely at agriculture and construction work where conditions are anything but forgiving.

The brand has also been quietly expanding its footprint. New dealerships opened in places like Lichtenburg, Potchefstroom, Upington and Kathu, while Durban and Cape Town saw upgrades that improved sales, service and parts support. That wider network is becoming a key factor for operators who cannot afford downtime far from home.

Looking ahead, the broader transport and logistics sector is expected to pick up further in 2026, helped by more stable power supply, easing interest rates and ongoing infrastructure work. If that plays out, FAW’s strong finish to 2025 could leave it well placed for another busy year on South African roads.

For now, the numbers tell the story. In a market where every kilometre and every litre counts, FAW is clearly doing something right.
