A female suspect has been arrested following the brutal killing of an e-hailing driver in Pretoria West on Wednesday, 11 February 2026. Police say more arrests are imminent as investigations continue into the shocking incident that has left many drivers fearing for their safety.
According to preliminary reports, the victim was allegedly attacked by a man and a woman who had requested an e-hailing trip in Pretoria West. The incident was captured on the vehicle’s dash camera, with disturbing footage now circulating on social media.
The video shows a violent struggle inside the moving vehicle. The woman, seated in the front passenger seat, appears to confront and restrain the driver while he attempts to defend himself. As the struggle intensifies, a man seated behind the driver pulls him from the back, placing him in what appears to be a chokehold.
During the altercation, a dark object is seen between the occupants as they wrestle for control. The vehicle eventually comes to a stop. Moments later, the driver appears to lose consciousness. The suspects are then seen moving him to the back seat before another man enters the vehicle and drives off.
Police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Mavela Masondo confirmed that the hijacked vehicle and the victim’s body were discovered in Atteridgeville later that same day.

The arrested woman is expected to appear before the Atteridgeville Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 16 February 2026, where she will face charges of car hijacking and murder.
Authorities have indicated that the investigation is ongoing and additional suspects are likely to be apprehended soon.
The incident has once again raised serious concerns about the safety of e-hailing drivers, many of whom operate alone and are vulnerable to violent crime while on duty.
