A horrific head-on collision between a truck and a car has brought traffic to a standstill on the N2 just outside Albertinia, heading towards Mossel Bay, on Tuesday night.
Truckers at the scene told SA Trucker that the crash occured around 22h00.
Both vehicles reportedly caught fire immediately upon impact, with eyewitnesses describing intense flames and thick black smoke billowing into the sky.
Tragically, reports from the scene suggest that the occupants of the car may not have made it out of the burning wreck. However, emergency services have yet to confirm any fatalities.
Firefighters are currently on scene battling the blaze, and the road remains closed in both directions as rescue teams work to bring the situation under control.
