Five people lost their lives in a tragic accident involving a minibus taxi, a truck, and a bus on the N1 near the Lubisi entrance in De Doorns on Thursday night.
The collision, which took place at approximately 22:50, left four women and one man dead, with 30 others sustaining injuries.
According to police spokesperson Captain F.C. Van Wyk, four females and one male died in the crash, with the identity of the female yet to be established.
The injured survivors were promptly transported to a nearby medical facility, where they are receiving treatment.
Van Wyk added that De Doorns police have opened a case of culpable homicide for investigation.

A 36-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and is currently under police guard in the hospital.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
Captain Van Wyk confirmed that authorities are working to understand the events that led to the devastating crash.
