Four people have tragically lost their lives after a bus overturned and plunged down an embankment on the N2 near the Sea Park Bridge, between Port Shepstone and Hibberdene.
The accident has left the scene in shambles, with multiple passengers injured and emergency services stretched to the limit.
The bus, owned by Holy Cross, lost control and rolled approximately 30 meters down the steep embankment, causing severe damage and throwing passengers into disarray.
KwaZulu Private Ambulance Service responded to the incident, describing it as one of unimaginable devastation.
Emergency crews from Ray Nkonyeni Fire and Rescue, IMART specialized rescue, and SAPS Search and Rescue worked tirelessly alongside paramedics to pull survivors from the wreckage.
Despite their efforts, four occupants were declared dead on the scene, having succumbed to their injuries before help could arrive.
Seven passengers sustained critical injuries and were rushed to nearby hospitals for immediate medical attention.

An additional five people were seriously injured, while 14 more suffered minor injuries. All those injured have been transported to various hospitals for further care.
Authorities are now investigating the cause of the crash, and further details are expected as the investigation progresses.
