Four injured in crash near Westwood Mall

Four people were injured following an accident on the M13 near the Westwood Mall, over the weekend. Netcare 911’s rescue officer and paramedics responded to the scene of the collision.

Reports from the scene indicated that the vehicle left the roadway in the wet weather and overturned. Its twisted frame came to rest on its roof in the centre median. The patients sustained injuries ranging from serious to minor.

They were treated at the scene before being transported to a nearby hospital for further medical care. Media liaison officer of Netcare 911, Chris Botha said that paramedics responded to several accidents on the wet roads over the weekend.

“Please reduce your speed, increase your following distance, and keep your headlights on to improve your visibility. Remember that you mean the world to your loved ones so don’t become another statistic on our roads today,” he concluded.
