Limpopo – Four people have lost their lives after their car collided with a truck and caught fire on the R516 near Waterburg on Friday morning.
The horrific crash happened on the R516 road next to Kroomdraai Crossing in Waterburg.
Both the truck and the sedan caught alight, killing all four occupants of the sedan.
Transport and Community Safety spokesperson, Matome Moremi says high speed and reckless driving is likely to have been the cause.
“The deceased were all from the Sedan and were burnt beyond recognition. They include a driver, 2 passengers, and a child,” says Moermi.
The truck driver was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries.
“The road is still closed, and motorists are advised to use alternative routes,” he adds.
