On Saturday around midday Netcare 911 paramedics responded to a two-vehicle collision on the M1 Higginson Highway .Two cars had collided head on seriously injuring four people from both cars.
Reports from the scene suggest that one of the vehicles lost control in the wet and slippery road and veered across the centre median hitting a car head-on.
The Netcare 911 Rescue vehicle and advanced life support paramedic arrived at the scene and found some of the occupants still trapped in the wreckages. The rescue officers forced the door open allowing ambulance crews to remove the patient.

Medics from private ambulance services treated the four seriously injured patients at the scene before they transported them to hospital for the care that they required.
The authorities were there to investigate further.
