Hino South Africa has earned a Platinum Award in the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) Dealer Satisfaction Index (DSI) survey for the fifth consecutive year. The recognition places the company ahead of its competitors in the Commercial Vehicle Segment, making it the only truck manufacturer or importer to secure a Platinum Award this year for achieving an impressive average score above 85%.
The DSI survey, now in its 21st edition, is an annual benchmark measuring the relationship between manufacturers and their dealers. The methodology used in the survey has been validated internationally, making it a reputable source for assessing customer satisfaction across the automotive industry.
Hino’s achievement was underscored by its strong relationship-building approach between Hino Japan, Hino South Africa, and its dealer network, which remains a key factor in its ongoing success. The company’s focus on meeting the demands of South Africa’s increasingly discerning truck customers has solidified its position in the industry.
While Hino South Africa’s latest success in the DSI survey is significant, the company also maintained top rankings in the Datatrack customer satisfaction survey, which evaluates fleet owners on sales, service, and parts. Hino’s score of 98.66, with individual scores of 99.48 in sales, 99.31 in service, and 97.18 in parts, was notably above the industry benchmark of 95%.

Despite facing ongoing market challenges, Hino South Africa continues to lead with its “Total Support” strategy, a global initiative from Hino Motors that focuses on fostering close relationships between the manufacturer, dealers, and customers. This approach has enabled the company to stay ahead of customer expectations and ensure satisfaction in all key areas.
In the face of difficult market conditions, Hino’s ability to maintain high scores in both surveys highlights its consistent commitment to customer satisfaction and its ongoing efforts to exceed industry standards.
