Intercape Bus in Fatal Crash on N1 near Touws River

An Intercape bus and a bakkie collided head-on on the N1, just a few kilometres north of Touws River, Western Cape, last night leaving at least one person dead.

Early reports from truckers who stopped at the scene suggest that one person may have died in the collision, although this has not yet been officially confirmed by authorities.

Traffic was heavily affected in both directions. Motorists travelling on this stretch of the N1 are advised to exercise caution and expect delays.

Details on the number of passengers on board the bus, as well as the extent of injuries, remain unclear at this stage.
