During the highly anticipated IAA Transportation 2024 in Hannover, the automotive industry gathered to witness the announcement of the prestigious awards for 2025.
Taking home the coveted title of International Truck of the Year 2025 was the Mercedes-Benz eActros 600, solidifying its place as a leader in emission-free, long-haul trucking.
The award jury, consisting of European journalists, praised the eActros 600 for its cutting-edge design and impressive performance during extensive testing across Europe, covering over 15,000 km.
Its innovative cab design, dubbed the ProCabin, boosts aerodynamics by 9%, while its dual 400 kW electric motors and 600 kWh battery setup provide over 500 km of range on a single charge — an essential feat for heavy-duty, long-distance transport.
Volvo Trucks’ Aero range and the Iveco S-Way electric tractor were strong contenders, but the eActros 600 emerged victorious with 88 votes. This marks only the second time an emission-free truck has claimed the award in its 48-year history.
Truck Innovation Award 2025
The Truck Innovation Award 2025 went to the MAN hTGX, which stood out with its hydrogen-injection engine delivering diesel-like performance.
With this, MAN has showcased a promising alternative fuel truck, further pushing the boundaries of sustainable transportation.
