A viral image showing Izusa Carriers trucks parked inside an orchard near Nelspruit has sparked widespread speculation, with some social media users questioning whether the troubled company may be hiding assets as liquidation fears continue to grow.
The photograph, which has been widely shared online, shows at least six Scania truck and side tipper interlink combinations positioned deep inside what appears to be a secluded orchard. The trucks are still branded Izusa Carriers, adding to the speculation and online debate.
Owner Responds to Viral Claims
Speaking to SA Trucker, Izusa Carriers owner Eben Bisson dismissed suggestions that the company is concealing assets.
“Those trucks were taken by Scania Finance weeks ago. I did not know where they were stored until this morning when the picture was sent to me,” Bisson said.
According to Bisson, the trucks are no longer under the company’s control and were repossessed by the financier prior to the image surfacing online.
Bisson confirmed to SA Trucker that Scania Finance took away 48 trucks from the company’s premises, and the ones in the picture are amongst the ones taken.
Financier Yet to Confirm
SA Trucker has contacted Scania Finance for comment regarding the status and storage of the vehicles. At the time of publication, no response had been received.
The lack of immediate confirmation has allowed speculation to continue, particularly given the unusual location where the trucks were found parked.
Image Fuels Liquidation Concerns
The viral image comes at a sensitive time for Izusa Carriers, which has been undergoing business rescue proceedings. Earlier developments saw creditors reject proposed rescue plans, increasing the likelihood of liquidation or a structured wind-down.
The timing of the image has intensified scrutiny around the company’s assets and raised fresh questions among industry observers.
Unusual Location Raises Questions
While asset repossession is common when companies face financial distress, vehicles are typically moved to secure storage facilities controlled by financiers. The use of an orchard as a storage location has drawn attention and contributed to the online reaction.
The fact that the trucks remain visibly branded has also added to public curiosity about the handling and status of the assets.
Situation Still Developing
At this stage, there is no confirmed evidence to support claims that Izusa Carriers is hiding assets. However, the viral image has placed the spotlight firmly on the company and its financiers.
Further clarity is expected once responses are received from the relevant parties.
With liquidation fears already circulating, developments around the company’s fleet and asset management are likely to remain under close watch in the coming days.
