Unitrans is looking for an experienced Ultra-Heavy Motor Vehicle Driver to join its RCL Foodcorp operations in Randfontein, Gauteng. If you have a Code EC licence, a valid PrDP and experience driving ultra-heavy vehicles, this could be an excellent opportunity.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric (Grade 10 literacy will be considered)
- Code EC driver’s licence
- Valid PrDP (DGP)
- At least 3 years’ experience driving an ultra-heavy vehicle
- Must be 25 years or older
- Able to work shifts, weekends and public holidays
- Knowledge of defensive driving techniques
- Understanding of vehicle inspections and emergency reporting procedures
- Familiarity with vehicle loading techniques and fire extinguisher operation
- Ability to maximise vehicle efficiency and cost-effectiveness
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare vehicles for trips and operate ultra-heavy motor vehicles safely.
- Load, transport and offload goods.
- Complete all required trip documentation.
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections and maintain housekeeping standards.
- Ensure loads are correctly secured and vehicles are not overloaded in accordance with the National Road Traffic Act.
- Open and close tarpaulins where required.
- Provide professional customer service during deliveries.
- Follow all company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety requirements.
- Carry out any other reasonable duties assigned by your supervisor.
Successful applicants will be required to complete medical assessments, induction, practical driving evaluations, training modules and criminal record verification.
