The M7 Westbound is obstructed between Bellville Bridge and Malvern after two trucks collided this Monday afternoon.
Durban Metro Police issued a warning regarding the serious traffic incident on the M7 from Durban to Pinetown.
An articulated truck reportedly rear-ended another heavy motor vehicles causing significant disruption in the area.
“As of now, two lanes on the Westbound side are completely obstructed, leaving only one lane open to traffic,” said Durban Metro police.
A 30-ton steel coil has fallen onto the middle lane, making recovery efforts complex.
A crane is required to remove the heavy load, and authorities estimate that the recovery process will take over 5 hours to complete.

Motorists are urged to avoid the area and use alternative routes where possible.
Those travelling through the affected stretch are advised to exercise patience and caution.
