Man Killed in Car and Truck Accident on R40 at Acornhoek

One person was killed and another seriously injured in a collision involving a side tipper truck and a VW Polo on the R40 in Acornhoek on Sunday afternoon.

According to eyewitness reports, the two vehicles collided head-on, leading to both drivers losing control.

Emergency services were quickly on the scene, but despite their efforts, the Polo driver was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

The identity of the deceased has not yet been released, pending notification of next of kin.

The truck driver sustained injuries. He was swiftly taken to the hospital to get the attention he required.
