Man killed in N1 head-on collision near Bloemfontein

Bloemfontein – An elderly man has tragically lost his life after his bakkie collided head-on with an articulated truck on the N1 outside Bloemfontein.

According to witnesses, the driver of the bakkie allegedly lost control of his vehicle and veered into the oncoming lane, crashing into the truck.

VRMED spokesperson said paramedics arrived to find the man severely entrapped in the wreckage. “Despite our best efforts, there was sadly nothing more we could do for him. He was declared deceased at the scene,” the spokesperson confirmed.
