Man seriously injured in Mpumalanga truck and bakkie collision

A man, believed to be in his 30s, was left seriously injured this morning when a bakkie and truck collided head-on on the R547 between Kriel and Kinross, Mpumalanga.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene shortly after 09h00 to find the truck in the road while the wrecked bakkie was found on the side of the road.

The driver of the bakkie, a man in his 30s, was found seated in the local authority’s vehicle.

Medics assessed the man and found that he had sustained numerous and was in a serious condition.

The man was treated for his injuries and provided with pain-relief medication before he was transported to Mediclinic Highveld for further treatment.

The driver of the truck, fortunately, escaped injury.

Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
