Emergency personnel has descended on the Forbes border post between Zimbabwe and Mozambique where a truck allegedly lost brakes and crashed into border officials and people waiting to cross the border before eventually crashing into a house.
SA Trucker spoke to witness who saw the accident happening around 10h19 today, Friday the 14th of August.
“Several people are lying dead while others have been injured, the truck hit a Vehicle Inspection Department bakkie before crashing into border officials and people waiting to cross the border,” said the witness.
“The truck only stopped after crashing into a house down the embankment,” he added.
Several paramedics, police officers and army personnel are attending to the injured.
The condition of the truck driver is not known yet.
