Five people have been killed in a horrific minibus taxi accident on R30 between Allanridge and Bothaville in the early hours of this Saturday morning.
1Life911 paramedics attended to the crash scene to find the 22-seater minibus taxi partially submerged in water.
The taxi driver allegedly lost control of his vehicle, left the road and crashed into a river.
A total of seventeen people were rescued and five of them were taken to hospitals in Welkom.
Unfortunately, five other people died in the single vehicle accident.

It was not immediately clear if they drowned in the submerged taxi.
