A suspect accused of robbing truck drivers near the notorious Beitbridge border crossing has been apprehended and had his feet severely amputated in a terrifying mob justice incident.
According to reports, the suspect and his accomplices attempted to target truck drivers queueing to cross the border when locals intervened.
Witnesses say the group of would-be robbers was chased down by bystanders after allegedly trying to rob drivers in the queue. While the suspect’s accomplices managed to escape, the suspect in question ran out of luck and he was caught.
In an act of street justice, the crowd allegedly turned on the suspect, assaulting him and ultimately chopping off his feet.
A graphic video of the incident, circulating on social media shows the injured man lying on the ground, groaning in pain with severed pieces of his feet beside him.
The suspect was reportedly transported to the hospital under guard.
