The N1 northbound is currently closed near Ventersburg in the Free State after a truck overturned and came to rest across the highway.
The collision was reported approximately 3 km north of Ventersburg, in the direction of Kroonstad.
Initial information indicates that the overturned truck is obstructing all lanes, resulting in a complete closure of the N1 at the scene.
Motorists travelling towards Kroonstad are urged to approach the area with extreme caution and be prepared for delays while emergency and recovery teams deal with the overturned truck.
In a video sent to SA Trucker, members of the public can be seen looting cargo from the overturned truck. The circumstances surrounding the incident and the status of the cargo have not yet been independently confirmed.
