Durban – The Hammarsdale Interchange on the N3 will be closed on Saturday and Sunday between 6am and 6pm.

The South African National Roads Agency (Sanral) said in a statement the road closure would take place on the N3 Pietermaritzburg to Durban at the Hammarsdale Interchange.

“Traffic will be diverted onto the off-and on ramps. Motorists are encouraged to take the alternative R103 from Cato Ridge Interchange. However, steps will be taken to ensure that the roads are closed for the shortest possible time,” the statement said.

In the statement Sanral urged motorists to proceed with caution and adhere to speed limits.

“Sanral apologises to the motoring public for any inconvenience caused and thanks them for their patience during road construction,” the statement continued.

“The Agency takes seriously its mandate from government to manage and maintain the national road network. In so doing, the safety and wellbeing of road users and the communities in which it operates are paramount.” Daily News
