Factors Driving the Increase
According to the Central Energy Fund, international diesel and illuminating paraffin prices rose during November, while petrol prices dropped. However, the depreciation of the rand (R17.93 to the dollar from R17.53 previously) erased any potential relief for petrol users.
Additional adjustments include a net increase in margin adjustments for petrol (15.4c/l) and diesel/paraffin (8.88c/l), effective 4 December.
While this news adds pressure to budgets, efficient fuel use and route planning can help mitigate rising costs. Stay safe out there, SA Truckers!
