An early-morning crash on the N1 North just before the Rigel Avenue off-ramp in Pretoria has left one person dead and eight others injured. The collision occurred at around 06:30 this morning, 19 October 2025.

According to Accident Management Liaison, Dean Slater, the crash involved a light motor vehicle that collided with the side of a truck, causing devastating consequences.

“The vehicle hit the side of the truck, which caused the roof to open as it rolled. Multiple patients were ejected from the car and thrown onto the side of the road,” Slater said.

The impact left the scene in chaos, with debris scattered across the highway and several injured people lying on the roadside.
