Video footage has surfaced online of a side tipper truck seemingly out of control ending up crashing into two trucks on N3 at Townhill outside Pietermaritzburg on Wednesday afternoon.
A motorist following behind the truck filmed the truck as it sped down the N3 freeway out of control.
Smoke can be seen coming out from its tyres suggesting brakes were no longer efficient.
The motorist filming the incident can be heard saying that the truck did not stop at the mandatory stop sign at the top of the hill.
It squeezes past one truck pushing it off the road before it crashes into another truck and jackknifes closing the freeway.
