Pics: Looters hamper medics’ trying to reach the injured on fatal N2 multi-vehicle crash scene

Durban – Three people have lost their lives in a multiple vehicle collision on the N2 between Stanger and Zinkwazi in northern KwaZulu-Natal.

It is alleged that a vehicle which was overtaking multiple vehicles lost control and crashed into a beer truck.

The truck lost control and also collided with several other vehicles.

Three people died on the scene while two others have been critically injured and two more are in a serious condition.

According to IPSS Medical Rescue team, paramedics’ efforts to assist the injured were hampered by looters who swarmed the scene to help themselves to beer from the truck.

Traffic on both the north and south bound carriage ways is severely affected.
