Pics : One killed in M4 truck and bakkie crash near La Mercy

Durban – A man has sadly been killed after his Nissan NP200 bakkie collided with a Volvo truck on the N4 at La Mercy north of Durban on Wednesday morning.

The M4 was closed between Umdloti Beach and La Mercy following the fatal collision.

Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) was informed of the collision by several motorists who noticed a while Volvo Truck and a white Nissan NP200 bakkie collide head-on.

Upon arrival Reaction Officers and Paramedics found that the driver of the LMV had succumbed to his injuries and was entrapped in the vehicle.

The driver of the Eastern Cape registered horse and trailer was not seriously injured. The road is closed and a Rescue Team is currently extricating the deceased from the mangled wreck.
