The R101 has been temporarily closed between Shell Ultra City and the Ranch Hotel following a head-on collision between a truck and a minibus taxi.
Limpopo Transport Department’s Media Liaison Officer, Mike Maringa, has confirmed the R101 route temporary closure.
“The R101 between Shell Ultra City and the Ranch Hotel is temporarily closed due to a fatal accident involving a truck and a 22 seater Iveco. Motorists are advised to use the N1 between Mokopane and Polokwane,” Maringa said.
He confirmed that three people have passed away.
Maringa said more fatalities are likely, and once again urged motorists to adhere to road regulations.
