Residents shutdown Nelspruit over high fuel prices 20220706 055930

Major highways including the N4 have been blocked off by protestors in Mbombela (Nelspruit) in the early hours of this morning, Wednesday 06 July 2022.

Social media users tweeted about a national shutdown against the high fuel prices the country is faced with but this could not be immediately confirmed.

TRAC N4 Toll Route confirmed that the N4 route was closed between Kanyamazane and Karino interchange due to the strike.

#NationalShutdown has been trending on social media for a while with calls for South Africans to strike against high fuel prices on Wednesday as new increased fuel prices take effect.
