Seven killed in horror truck vs taxi crash near Nelspruit seven dead2

Mbombela – Seven people were killed and fourteen others injured after a truck and a taxi collided head-on just outside Nelspruit on Old kaNyamazane road on Saturday morning.

Emer-G-Med’s Martin Jeffrey, reporting from the scene of the horrific crash said seven of the passengers in the taxi had died on the spot, eight others sustained serious injuries while six sustained medium to moderate injuries.

The accident happened around 06h30 on the Old KaNyamazane Road just before the Tekwane South turnoff in Mpumalanga.

“Various emergency services are transporting those who are injured to the hospital,” Jeffrey said.

Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison, Moeti Mmusi, confirmed the death toll this morning adding that one of the victims was the driver of the taxi.

It is not clear what caused the accident, but SA Trucker will keep you updated as soon as more information becomes available.
